The Great Truth is Simple, Action Speaks Louder: 2025 New Semester Faculty Meeting Held

Uniting hearts and minds to embark on a new journey, pursuing pragmatism to chart a new chapter. On the morning of February 16, the university convened its 2025 New Semester Faculty Meeting at the gymnasium. All university leaders and faculty members attended the meeting, which was chaired by Zhu Qiang, Vice president.

Vice President Liu Tiefeng and Ling Yanping respectively delivered the opening work report and announced commendation decisions. University leaders presented awards to outstanding departments and individuals.

Sheng Mingke, President of the university, delivered concluding remarks. He emphasized that 2025 marks the culmination of the 14th Five-Year Plan and the drafting of the 15th Five-Year Plan. It is also the inaugural year for fully implementing the Education Power Plan Outline and advancing the development of a “strong education province”, as well as a critical year for the university’s upcoming undergraduate education and teaching evaluation by the Ministry of Education and the decisive battle for "master’s degree program accreditation." He urged the entire university to strengthen confidence, enhance responsibility, and embrace a sense of mission.

Sheng Mingke stated that the university must clarify its role in national and provincial education strategies, leverage its strengths, and address weaknesses. He outlined three priorities for the year:

First, understanding trends and enhancing confidence: Fully implement the spirit of national and provincial education conferences.

Second, upholding ethos and fostering ownership: Advance high-quality development with a “master’s mindset”. The teaching evaluation and “master’s degree accreditation” are top priorities.

Third, enhancing capabilities and executing diligently: Faculty must excel in their roles. In education, he urged teachers to uphold professionalism, prioritize student development, and cultivate well-rounded talents. In research, he encouraged balancing teaching with innovation, optimizing pedagogy, and promoting real-world applications of academic achievements. He also stressed adherence to ethical standards, calling on faculty to exemplify moral and academic integrity.

Sheng Mingke demanded that all staff align with institutional reforms, act with urgency and perseverance, and jointly write a new chapter in the university’s high-quality development.
